Frequently Asked Questions

Service Call

  1. Why am I being charged a service call fee?
    We send out a qualified experienced service technician. If we need to re-attend for the same issue within 3 months this service call is covered by our customer satisfaction warranty. If we don’t have the part to complete your repair on the first visit, you will not be charged a secondary service call to finalise the repair.
  2. How is labour charged?
    We charge labour in 15 minute intervals. The average time charged on most appointments is 15 -30 minutes.
  3. Warranties
    Warranty on Labour is 3 Months. Warranty on Parts is based on the Manufacturer’s warranty, which for most manufacturers is 12 months.
  4. Insurance
    We are a fully insured business, we have public liability and workers compensation insurance.

Dishwasher

Common Faults:

  • No lights working
  • Lights are on but not working
  • Not locking / Handle Issues

  1. My Dishwasher is not washing properly, what can I do?
    Have you checked your filters? A regular service by a service technician can lengthen the life of your dishwasher, we can service the spray arms, the filters, make sure the wheels are attached correctly and not obstructing the spray arms from turning
  2. Glasses are not drying but they seem clean?
    We recommend using Rinsing Aids as they aid the drying process and can make a big difference.

Fisher & Paykel Dishdraw

  1. What is an ‘oversuds’?
    Fisher & Paykel Dishdraw are a 1/2  sized dishwasher so if you use the same amount of detergent or tablet as a regular dishwasher you risk overloading the machine with too many suds and can cause your dishwasher to enter a ‘flood mode’.  If you think your dishwasher may have entered a flood mode, you will see a F1 on your screen please.

    What do I do?
    Turn the power and water off and call us to make an appointment for a technician to attend.

Fisher & Paykel Fault Code

  • F1 - Flood Switch is on
  • F2 - Motor Fault
  • F3 - Temperature Sensor Fault
  • F4 - Temperature Sensor or Element Fault
  • F9 - Electonic Fault
  • U1 - Fill Fault

Washing Machine

Common Faults:

  • No power
  • Drum not turning or agitating
  • Not draining
  • Not filling
  • Noisy
  • Not spinning
  • Black spots or grease on clothes
  • Timer not moving
  • Not heating
  • Leaking water
  • Tripping the power
  • Door not closing
  1. I’ve noticed black marks on our clothes?
    It could be a few things, do you use Fabric Softener? It could be a build-up of undiluted softener which after time dries and then flake or it could be a mouldy door seal which should be replaced.  
  2. The Door won’t open and my clothes are inside!
    Front loaders have locking mechanism for safety and to prevent flooding. The unlock system can deactivate for a few reasons and you will need a technician to repair the machine. However if you need to open your machine most machines have an emergency lever to open the door. We recommend giving us a call prior to opening so we can help you to determine if it’s safe to open.

Fridge

Common Faults:

  • Not cold
  • Not freezing enough in freezer compartment
  • Fridge is freezing food, too cold
  • Noisy
  • Leaking water
  • No light
  • Tripping power
  • Beeping
  • Too cold
  • Not defrosting
  1. When I open the fridge door there is no longer a light on, how do I know my fridge is still working?
    Can you hear a humming noise or feel a vibration? - It is possible the light globe has blown but the machine is still functioning, give us a call and we can run through a few tests to make sure your fridge is working efficiently.
  2. There is a small leak at the bottom of the fridge.
    It is possible the drain is blocked and cannot drain.

Dryer

Did you know you should clean out your lint filter every cycle?

Rangehood

Common Faults:

  • Vibrating
  • Light bulb blown
  • Noisy
  • Tripping
  • Not sucking
